“Thank You For Your Service TRIBUTE”

The “Thank You For Your Service TRIBUTE” initiated by the LZRainellle Group is designed to encourage local businesses and individuals to purchase a 1.5′ X 2′ placard advertising  your business, honoring and paying tribute to a military service member or  loved one, which will be posted in a conspicuous area near the Rainelle Medical Center prior to the LZ reunion through Memorial Day, which includes the “Run For The Wall” arrival.  The name of the purchasing business or individual will also be included in a list of sponsors that will be posted on this website.  The order form for the placards can be obtained by clicking this link – TRIBUTE Order Form.  Previous sponsors are list on the “LZRainelle Sponsors” tab at the top of this page or clicking the following link – TRIBUTES.  Please participate as funding for our effort to keep the reunion alive is difficult to obtain.

Placard fee is $40 and will be on display up to 12 days and will be displayed on our website http://lzrainelle.org for approximately 1 year.

Bicycle Contest Judging & Awards will be at 11:15 AM (Ages 5-14)
You must wear a helmet and adult supervision to ride in the parade.

 * (Cash Prizes) Best overall Patriotic Award – $100 & Best in Class Award -$50.  Judges will be walking through the lineup*
Judging will be on points: 1 point for each one you display.
A: Honoring someone who served or is serving(1 point for each)
B: THEME: Patriotic Red, White, & Blue – Honor and Remember.
C: Flags: (1 point for each) 1. USA 2. WV 3. Military Branch (1 point for each) 4. Gold Star Honor and Remember.

The Honor And Remember flag was created to serve as a national symbol that specifically acknowledges the sacrifice of men and women in the United States Armed Forces who have given their lives for their country in over two centuries of American history.

1 PM awards will be given out at 811TH Reserve Center parking lot after the parade. You must be present to receive an award.

ENTER AT:  John Raine Drive in front of Kroger’s (from Rt 60 at railroad track).                                                                                        Parade route exit Ind. Park to Rt.20 N – Rt 60 E – to James River & Kanawha Tpk – Gbr. Ave – to 11th St – Rt 60 W and back through town to Ind. Park to 811th. Reserve Center parking lot for awards (You must be present to win.)

The public, Veterans, and active military personnel are invited to register and join in the fun with the annual LZ Rainelle Veterans Reunion MURBLES tournament.   

* Gold Star families, JROTC, Radio, Healthcare, First Responders, Teachers, News Media will be our guests this year as the opponents, and your participation will entitle you to recieve a tournament t-shirt.
* The tournament will be held at Rainelle City Hall, 210 Kanawha Ave,). In case of inclement weather, all games will be at Rainelle Elementry School 634 Kanawha Ave.
*Lunch will be provided for everyone registered for the tournament on May 24 @1:30 PM.  Please RSVP by May 1. with Emma or Lanny.

Murbles is a very non-strenuous game that can be played standing or sitting, and no fee is required to participate.  Ages 4 to 104 can play.  If you have an impairment, this is a game for you.  2 players paired, single elimination, 16 players in each tournament.  1st, 2nd, and two 3rd place winners. There will be a gift for you after the game and a tournament shirt.  Reservations will go quickly, so call in and sign up now.  Be prepared to have someone take your place, if you cannot fill your reservation.
